MY PHILOSOPHY ON BODYWORK

This elixir field located in the sea of vital energy, the lower back and legs, the soles of the feet
- it is all the Pure Land of my own mind. How could the splendors of that Pure Land exist apart from my mind?

Touch alone, the tactile reassurance of our connectedness to others is such a basic experience that its power can easily be overlooked. I see this power as the foundation from which other benefits of massage can arise.

Deep relaxation is a primary benefit of massage. When your body is relaxed, your mind is at ease and your body's natural healing mechanism, "the immune system" can work its wonders more effectively.

In addition, specific techniques of massage can address places in the body that have endured greater stresses and that may be causing difficulty and pain in daily activities. Massage can bring some ease to trouble spots and combined with other practices such as yoga, can help to reduce or even overcome chronic pain caused by muscle tension and postural imbalances.

My approach is eclectic. While I draw on training in deep tissue, Swedish, neuromuscular techniques, and yoga postures, I love to learn and bring new ideas and techniques into my practice. Most importantly, I strive to listen carefully to you and individualize the massage to meet your needs.
